In 1987, George and Barry decided to merge the two distributorships into the Jones Kinden Company. The newly formed Jones Kinden Company moved to a business park east of West Chester and continued to expand, adding Kennametal Inc., Micro Centric, Hydromat, and more to their line card.
In October of 2000, Jeffrey Mayer, the grandson of Wally Kinden, bought the company from George and Barry. He had served as a full-time employee of the company for more than 20 years prior to buying the company. Since Jeff acquired the business, the company has doubled in both personnel as well as sales volume. In 2007, 60 years after its founding, the company moved to its current location at Lincoln Independence Park in West Chester, PA. The facility includes an area for machine demonstrations as well as room to expand as needed in the future.
In January of 2023, Tom Mayer, the son of Jeff, became the new President of the company. He has worked for the company in some capacity most of his life and has been a full-time employee since 2015. He studied Mechanical Engineering and interned with Hydromat before joining the company. He is a CMTSE as certified by the AMT in 2022. Along with Tom, Andrew Ostrobrod has been promoted to Vice President and Technical Sales Manager. Andrew has been with the company since 2016 and brings a wealth of machine tool sales experience to the leadership team.
